Tax Attorney

Samantha Davis (née Wisniewski) is a skilled tax attorney at The Tax Defenders, where she applies her expertise in tax resolution alongside her background in elder law and family law to advocate effectively for clients facing IRS challenges.

Earlier in her career, Samantha built a strong foundation in public service through attorney positions at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, Legal Services of Southern Missouri, and the Law Firm of Lance R. Drury. In each of these roles, she worked applying the tax code to resolve cases related to taxpayer issues.

Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, she earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2009) before graduating cum laude with a J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law (2013). 

Admitted to the Missouri Bar and serving on its Taxation Law Committee and Women in the Profession Committee, Samantha is also qualified to practice in the United States Tax Court and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

Prior to entering practice, Samantha found her passion for advocacy through college volunteering with the East Madison Coalition for the Aging and an internship in the Elder Law Unit at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. She has never strayed from this commitment to helping others, especially those from vulnerable populations.

In her free time, Samantha enjoys discovering new spots around the St. Louis area—often seeking out the perfect coffee at a local café. When not seeking out an interesting local place, she’s likely volunteering, reading the latest tax developments, or simply relaxing with a fresh brew.
